A rare lunar occultation of Jupiter was visible from Winter Bay Observatory just before sunrise on October 6, 2026. The hours leading up to the main event were clear, although the seeing was relatively poor. The clouds started rolling in 30 minutes prior, but luckily they stepped aside just as Jupiter was preparing to duck behind the moon. The clouds were too thick, however, to capture Jupiter reappearing an hour later. All images were taken with the C14 EdgeHD and a POA Uranus-C camera.
